Jam sessions, open mics, local performances, etc. (updated July 22, 2026)
Informal Open Jam Sessions at the Speculator Farmers Market.
The market is every Thursday 12-4. There may or may not be 'jammers' there right at 12.
No jam at the ballfield/pavilion on August 13 due to Twigs Craft Fair. If interested in meeting later in the day, perhaps at the Lemon Tree Brewery, please email Pete Newell.
All abilities and instruments are welcome. Even if you just know 3 chords or want to sing along, or even just listen, that's great. We are playing for our enjoyment and as a learning experience, not 'performing.'
We generally are playing acoustic. However power is available and electric instruments are welcome (at resonable volume) but you will need a long extension cord if you want to plug in.
Meet in the shade under the roof at the BBQ pit and bring your own chair. If it is a very windy day, we may move to behind the pavilion. There is no set time for the jam session, but generally about 12:30~3:30. It just depends on who shows up. If you are definitely planning to come please .
Open Jam and Open Mic at the Lemon Tree Brewery Tuesdays
August 4, August 18, September 1, September 15 continuing in in the fall if there is sufficient interest.
Informal jam starts around 5, open mic about 6. All abilities are welcome. We have some really good performers show up, but this tends to be a pretty informal event with the emphasis on having fun. You don't have to be a pro to come play, sing, sing along, listen, and enjoy yourself. Preregistration requested but not required. Please

There may also be some impromptu get-togethers at the Lemon Tree. If the weather is good, this might be in the form of a "sing and play around the campfire" out back. If you are interested in doing this please contact Pete Newell.
Informal Jam at the Lake Pleasant Senior Center 2864 Route 8, Speculator 9AM-3PM Saturday August 1 during their rummage & bake sale. We may be meeting one or more times before August 1 to 'practice.' You can also do a 'open mic' set if you prefer.
"Music Circle" Informal Jam at the Lake Pleasant Public Library on the first Sunday of every month. Summer start time is noon and the session typically runs about 3 hours. All abilities and instruments are welcome. Even if you just know 3 chords or want to sing along, or even just listen, that's great. We are playing for our enjoyment and as a learning experience. Preregistration is not required. However if there are no confirmed attendees, the session will be cancelled. You can just show up, but if you are travelling any distance it would be best to contact Pete Newell ahead of time to make sure it is "on." Additional Sunday sessions will be scheduled if there is definite interest.
